“Without Government Support, Global Brands Would Not Have Reached Our Fields!”: How Family Farms in the Abai Region Are Upgrading Their Equipment
On October 15, KazAgroFinance JSC organized a press tour for media representatives in the Abai Region. During the trip, journalists visited leading farming enterprises in the region — Lada Farm and Zenkovskoe LLP — where they saw firsthand how preferential leasing of agricultural machinery boosts productivity and efficiency in the agricultural sector.
The first stop was Lada Farm in the Borodulikha district. The farm grows wheat, buckwheat, sunflower, and forage crops, and processes sunflower seeds into oil. The total area of agricultural land exceeds 4,000 hectares. According to farm head Alexander Romanov, the enterprise has been cooperating with KazAgroFinance JSC for 23 years. Over this period, the farm has acquired more than 20 units of equipment worth 368 million tenge through the company, including MTZ and Buhler tractors, Essil and Vector combines, a seeding complex, a seeder, and other machinery. Thanks to low leasing rates, the farm was able to renew its fixed assets and improve field efficiency, preserving yields without losses. For example, last year the farmer proudly purchased a high-speed Gaspardo Chrono 916 seeder.
“Nowadays, we need to switch to more powerful and productive machinery. With the new seeder, the work has become much faster and more efficient. Previously, it took three people to sow sunflower, but now one person can handle the same volume. For instance, before, 15 days of work by three operators were needed to sow 1,200–1,300 hectares, whereas now a single worker manages that area within the same timeframe,” said Alexander Romanov.
Lada is a family business founded by the farmer’s father back in the 1990s. Since then, the farm has not only grown in size but has also become a true family tradition — even the grandchildren help out now. The farm employs 22 people. High productivity is achieved through a smart combination of powerful machinery and skilled workers.
The next stop was Zenkovskoe LLP, located in the village of Zenkovka in the same district. The farm’s land bank exceeds 5,000 hectares, and the cultivated area continues to grow. Its main activities include the cultivation of grain, leguminous, and oilseed crops. The farm employs 45 people on a year-round basis.
The enterprise was established more than twenty years ago and has since earned a reputation as one of the most advanced in the region. Its owner, Madizhan Kuramysov, continues the family’s agricultural legacy, combining tradition with science and modern technology. A trained agronomist, he regularly introduces innovations and adopts new equipment. According to him, this comprehensive and progressive approach is the main secret to Zenkovskoe LLP’s success.
This year, the farm expanded its fleet by purchasing a HORSCH Leeb VL self-propelled sprayer, which enables efficient crop protection for sunflower fields, covering large areas with precise dosing. Zenkovskoe also acquired a Bourgault seeder, a John Deere tractor with a seeding complex, and an ACROS combine. Among the new additions is a Claas Trion grain harvester, financed at an annual rate of 5%.
“We wouldn’t be able to cultivate our land as efficiently or maintain crop quality without the use of modern agricultural machinery purchased with the support of KazAgroFinance JSC and the government. Without preferential leasing opportunities, global brands like Claas Trion simply wouldn’t be operating in our fields. This combine is a true technological breakthrough — it automatically adjusts its speed and adapts to yield and local conditions. Thanks to government support, we can bring such technologies to our farms,” noted the farmer.
Since 2018, Zenkovskoe LLP has acquired more than 10 units of equipment worth 992 million tenge through KazAgroFinance leasing programs. This has enabled the farm to work faster, more accurately, and harvest crops with minimal losses.
At the Abai regional branch of KazAgroFinance JSC, representatives emphasized that the growth in equipment financing directly reflects the level of support for local farmers.
“The success of our clients is the best demonstration of our effectiveness. From 2023 to October 1, 2025, we have financed 1,719 units of machinery totaling about 32 billion tenge. Our work continues — we will keep providing farmers with machinery on preferential terms,” said branch director Renat Bekov.
Since the beginning of 2025 alone, agricultural producers in the Abai Region have received 452 units of machinery worth 12 billion tenge through KazAgroFinance JSC. Today, the regional branch serves 1,090 clients, which highlights the strong demand for leasing programs and the active adoption of modern agricultural technologies in the region.
