Animal accounting: a useful mobile application for livestock owners was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture

In Kazakhstan, on July 18 of this year, a mobile application for owners of farm animals “TortTulik” was launched. The project was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture together with the Analytical Center for Economic Policy in the Agro-Industrial Complex.

The application will help expand the base of farm animals; each animal owner (farm, limited liability partnership, private household plot, etc.) can take an inventory of their livestock. Thanks to this, veterinarians will have the opportunity to carry out veterinary preventive measures in a timely and complete manner.

The application works via a smartphone. Through the program, it will also be possible to obtain a veterinary passport, and in the future, carry out procedures for buying and selling livestock, replacing tags if lost, and also deregistering an animal after slaughter.

“TortTulik” will become a kind of information hub for villagers. The app includes features to send you the latest industry news, notifications about upcoming vaccinations, and more.

As the application is updated, a section for meat buyers will be introduced. In the “sogym.kz” tab, Kazakhstanis will be able to order a carcass of an animal that has passed veterinary control directly from the agricultural producer.

While “TortTulik” will be available for download on the Android Playmarket, later the developers will adapt the application for smartphones on iOS. It should be noted that potential users of the mobile program will be 1.5 million livestock owners throughout the country.
