Artificial intelligence is being introduced in Kazakhstan to recognize agricultural machinery

KazAgroFinance JSC, together with QCloudy, which is an official partner of Amazon Web Services, has developed a system for online monitoring of leased items and collateral using artificial intelligence. This was reported by the press service of KazAgroFinance JSC.

In order to control the quantitative and qualitative parameters of leased items, employees of the branches of KazAgroFinance JSC monitor the property. To do this, a mechanical engineer goes to the location of the leased item, takes photos and videos, then draws up an inspection report and uploads the data to the ERP accounting system.

Mechanical engineers from all branches are involved in the monitoring, and drivers, legal advisers and other employees may also be involved, depending on the volume of items being checked. That turns out to be about 40 people.

“This requires significant human and time resources. However, we realized that this process has risks and costs for our company. Therefore, we began to look for a solution that could make work easier for our employees and reduce costs,” said Mars Alish, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazAgroFinance JSC.

To improve the situation, a mobile application was developed that allows customers to carry out inventory themselves. But problems with the lack of internet in some remote areas have led to the search for new solutions.

The project to identify leased items is based on the use of a series of photographs. On average, recognition of one leased item from a series of 5 photos occurs within 20 seconds. This allowed us to minimize the human factor and reduce inventory time from three months to two weeks.

“We started exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence and chose a solution from Amazon. The algorithm is as follows: the client takes a series of photos, recognizing which the AI sends a response in which we note such moments as flat tires, cracks in the glass and other minor faults,” said Mars Alish.

Inventory automation through the use of artificial intelligence can lead to increased efficiency, reduce risks and optimize resources.

“This experience demonstrates the importance of innovation in our operations and opens up new prospects for future development. Monitoring and inventory remain important components of the activities of the KazAgroFinance company. We express our gratitude to Amazon for the results and plan to continue cooperation to apply effective solutions in other processes,” said Usen Galym, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek NMH JSC.

Joint Stock Company “KazAgroFinance” is part of the group of companies JSC “National Managing Holding “Baiterek”. The largest financial institution that provides leasing services to agricultural producers for the purchase of agricultural equipment. The company has been operating for more than 24 years, contributing to the development of technical equipment in the country's agricultural sector.
