Independent directors of the Baiterek holding were reported on the results of work to support the agro-industrial complex

Today, a strategic session was held at Baiterek NMH JSC, during which the independent directors of the Holding Philip Yeo, Thomas Mirow and Klaus Mangold heard reports from the Holding's subsidiaries - Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC (ACC), KazAgroFinance JSC (KAF) on support of the agro-industrial complex over the past year. Members of the Management Board of the Holding also took part in the meeting.

Speaking to the meeting participants, Almat Ashirbekov, Chairman of the Board of ACC, noted that the company is showing good results in 2021.

- ACC assets are formed in the amount of 821 billion tenge, equity capital is 283 billion tenge, loan portfolio - 818 billion tenge. The amount of financing in 2021 reached 323 billion tenge. Borrowers of the ACC are 76.5 thousand agricultural producers, - said the head of the ACC. 


According to him, last year ACC financed 69 investment projects totaling 53.1 billion tenge in 11 areas: livestock, poultry, crop production, storage and processing, etc.  

He also informed about the results of the merger of the Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture JSC with the ACC in 2021. In particular, the staffing level was reduced by 184 units.

- In the current year, it is planned to complete the work on the accession of KazAgroFinance JSC to ACC. We plan to implement the principle of "one window" in the financing of agro-industrial complex and create unified loan products, - the head of the ACC concluded.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of KAF Aidar Prashev noted that the company occupies 86% of the leasing market in the agro-industrial complex. 


- Realization of equipment produced in Kazakhstan through KAF ranges from 50% to 77%. Last year, the demand for agricultural machinery did not decrease. The disbursement of funds for equipment leasing at the end of 2021 amounted to -141.6 billion tenge, which is 28.7% higher compared to 2020, an unprecedented amount of equipment was leased to KAF - 7,276 units, he informed.

In addition, the heads of subsidiaries spoke about the implementation of ESG principles, risk management and digitalization of their services in companies.

At the end of the meeting, members of the Board of Directors - independent directors of the Baiterek holding discussed topical issues in the field of agriculture and made recommendations on microcredit and the availability of financial instruments to support agribusiness entities, taking into account risks and inflation.
