As part of the opening ceremony, a press conference of KazAgrofinance JSC was held, which was attended by: Chairman of the Board of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC Almat Ashirbekov , Deputy Chairman of the Board, Member of the Board of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC Marlen Nabiev , Chairman of the Board of KazAgroFinance JSC Aidar Prashev, director of the branch of KazAgroFinance JSC in Semey Maksat Baigeldy, chairman of the branch of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan in the Abay region Serik Baygaliev.

“Over seven years, 15 large investment projects worth more than 20 billion tenge have been financed in the regions included in the Abay region. We are talking about creating feedlots, processing agricultural products, developing dairy farms, creating breeding farms, etc. In addition, funding was provided to 9 credit partnerships, which, in turn, issued loans to 878 farms.

Since the beginning of this year, 3.3 billion tenge has been allocated for the implementation of 186 projects under the Ken Dala, Agribusiness and Isker programs in the Abay region. We will continue to support agricultural formations in the region,” noted Almat Ashirbekov, Chairman of the Board of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC.

According to the Chairman of the Board of KazAgroFinance JSC Aidar Prashev, in the new branch, agricultural producers of Semey and Abay region will be able to lease agricultural equipment on favorable terms. The Abay region has great potential: its area occupies 185.5 thousand sq. km and has more than 9 thousand agricultural producers. “Thanks to the opening of the branch, the budget will increase, which farmers in the region will be able to use, since about 5 billion tenge will be allocated to finance the agro-industrial complex of the Abay region in 2023,” noted the Chairman of the Board of KazAgroFinance JSC.

Market representative - chairman of the branch of the Association of Farmers of Kazakhstan in the Abay region, Serik Baygaliev, emphasized that these financial institutions were created specifically for farmers, for the development of the agro-industrial complex. “As a result of our meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erbol Karashukeev, it is expected that the package of documents for peasants will be reduced, that is, farmers will be able to come with an identity card and a certificate of registration of their peasant farm, limited liability partnership, etc. and based on these documents receive financing. Also in the coming years, it is planned to integrate the databases of all institutions, including the Department of State Revenue, the Bureau of National Statistics, and so on. The fact that a branch is opening today in the city of Semey will allow farmers to receive services in a “one-stop shop” format, since KazAgrofinance JSC and Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC are located at the same address,” noted Serik Baygaliev.

Having your own branch in the region will significantly reduce travel costs and speed up business processes for farmers in the Beskaragai, Borodulikha and Abay districts, since previously farmers had to travel more than 200 km to Ust-Kamenogorsk to submit an application.

“The portfolio of the branch of KazAgroFinance JSC in the Abay region will serve more than 663 clients of agricultural enterprises (1,878 contracts) and this is not the limit, the loan portfolio will amount to 13.2 billion tenge,” noted Maksat Baigeldy, director of the branch of KazAgroFinance JSC.

Now the region is one of the leaders among users of the services of KazAgroFinance JSC. As of December 15, 2022, the amount of financed applications in the Abay region amounted to 7.7 billion tenge, 432 units of agricultural equipment were leased.

Now at least 650 farms in the Abay region will be able to lease agricultural equipment on favorable terms. This will be a huge support for the creation and development of agricultural businesses, which means a variety of assortments on store shelves for consumers.
