Greenhouses of Kazakhstan in Winter
10.02.2012 The frosts, covered the essential part of Kazakhstan, made no special occasion for concern in the new greenhouse complexes operating in colder northern regions of the country. According to the management of the complexes this is not “abnormal cold weather”, such temperature drops were taken into account in the design and construction of the greenhouses. Notwithstanding the frost behind the windows, the enterprises “maintain the warmth” and grow their vegetables. This refers to the up-to-date greenhouse complexes in Stepnogorsk (“Greenhouse Technologies of Kazakhstan” LLP), Aktobe (“Izet Greenhouse” LLP) and Karaganda (“Green Technology” LLP), which construction was financed by “KazAgroFinance” JSC within the framework of implementation of the Investment Projects by the national leasing company in the agricultural sector of the country. Did the cold weather affect the growth and crop capacity of the cucumbers and tomatoes? The maximum low temperature “overboard”, under which the greenhouse was operated, was registered in Stepnogorsk city, Akmolinskaya oblast. Under -42⁰C, according to the Director of Complex Alexander Gribalyev, the second heating boiler was started-up. Twenty-four hours a day the system maintained the working 20-21 degree of warm – the optimum conditions for growth and ripening of the vegetables. In January, the greenhouse workers harvested 75 ton of cucumbers and planted the new tomato seedlings, which harvesting is expected to be by the middle of March and to be harvested during the whole year. Totally, about 400 ton of cucumbers, 341 ton of tomatoes and over 3 thousand briquettes of greens were harvested. The harvest is sold in Astana, Stepnogorsk, Karaganda and Kokshetau. As it was reported, the Project (“Greenhouse Technologies of Kazakhstan” LLP for 3.5 ha and the Project capacity of 1800 ton was launched in the end of 2010. KazAgroFinance allocated KZT787.4 million for its implementation. The yield of the planned production capacity is expected to be in 2012. In the greenhouse complex “Izet Greenhouse” LLP in Aktyubinskaya oblast the temperature of +24 degree was maintained during the frosty weather. The Aktobe greenhouse workers say that as of today the new seedlings have been planted, which are making the ovaries already. At that, since the opening of the complex the first round of harvest in 2011 made 1100 ton of tomatoes. The harvesting of the new round is planned to be started in March. The greenhouse for 3 ha and capacity of 1500 ton of vegetables was constructed in the end of 2010. KazAgroFinance invested KZT994.9 million in the Project. Under the outside air temperature -35 degree the Karaganda greenhouse workers of “Green Technology” LLP are preparing for planting the new seeds of cucumbers. As the Director of the Greenhouse Complex Kairat Imangazinov notices that the frosty weather in the street makes no especial influence on the course of the agronomic works within the greenhouse and the vegetable crop capacity. After commissioning in summer of the last year 680 ton of cucumbers were grown in the greenhouse of 3 ha. The products are mainly sold in Karaganda and Astana. The total cost of the Investment Project amounted to KZT1.3 milliard. The investments of KazAgroFinance made up KZT918.1 million whereof. According to the experts of KazAgroFinance, the leasing company – operator of the main investment trends in the agriculture of the country, the greenhouse complexes, built in the northern regions of the country, are operated under the normal conditions. It is a result of not only the preparedness of the entrepreneurs themselves, but also the proper work of the equipment suppliers and the local designers, for whom the climate conditions of the region were the one of key aspects in the work over the project.
